Hello! My name is Boris!

After being dumped in boarding over a year ago, Boris has been accepted into Pets Return Home. We are resolving his fear issues and building trust and confidence in people. He is a wonderful dog who needs love and patience.

Background

Hi there! My name is Boris. People have called me Boris the Regal. I am more apt to call myself Boris the Abandoned. You see, it was not all that long ago that I was found loose on the streets of San Antonio, Texas. Not everyone knows that I once had a home where people loved me, where I was wanted.

Then one day everything changed. I believe the word used was "circumstances". I did not know what that meant at the time, but I sure do now. Changing circumstances meant I was out on the street, to fend for myself, never to see the home or the people I loved so dearly again. I ended up at Animal Care Services and waited for a new family to choose me so I could love them as much as I loved the family I so missed. I tried to show my best character. I tried to show how I am strong and handsome. That I love to run and am so agile. That I will sit on your lap and try to crawl into you because I am so loyal, and that I will play ball with you or rope or squeaky toy or anything you want actually. I love to play. But every day, other dogs were chosen. Every day I was left behind. Abandoned.

Then, my time ran out. Space was limited as always and for some reason, I did not make the cut. I was led to the room that no dog ever returns. As I lay on the table, preparing myself to feel the dark, the most amazing thing happened! A rescue chose me!! I was saved! I was going to have a chance to show off all my good qualities and have a chance for a family again. I was taken to an amazing boarding facility with lots of other dogs to play with and amazing human friends. I watched as my playmates went to their rescues, and new playmates came. I heard the stories of my playmates being adopted and could not wait for my turn.

Then I heard it, the dreaded word, abandoned. My rescue had left me. Left me in boarding. So now, I wait. I wait as my kind human friends look for a family for me to love. I wait to be the one that is chosen. I wait to be called, Boris the Regal.
