Penelope

Estimated DOB: January 15, 2017

Found on Middle Verde Indian Reservation in March. Surrendered to Pets Return Home on March 25, 2017. She came to us healthy; vaccinated immediately and isolated for ~1 week to confirm her health status. She has not shown any evidence of disease and is socializing with puppies 4 weeks younger than her as well as adult dogs, male and female, ages 1-9 years, medium to large size, various breeds. She is well behaved and brave while on property. She is shy in public and has difficulty walking on the leash when she is scared. She loves being handled, giving snuggles and hugs. She is comfortable in the bath and also the crate. We recommend providing all dogs with a crate as their “den” is their safe place. In our experience, dogs who do not have a den have a higher risk of developing behavior problems.

NOTE: This dog will REQUIRE rabies vaccination as well as spay surgery to finalize her adoption. Rabies is recommended AFTER 12 weeks of age (follow your veterinarian recommendation). Spay is recommended at 6 months (June 2017) to allow the puppy to develop with normal hormonal function to ensure wellness for many years to come. Additional vaccinations should also be administered at your veterinarian’s discretion.
