ANIMAL DESCRIPTION HEADER

Good day!  My name is Ganja.  I was found wandering the streets in Maricopa county.  I had a really bad limp, I am a pit bull and I am mostly black.  According to the shelter it was doubtful anyone would ever want to love me becasue of those things. Therefore they put me on the KILL-LIST.  After three days a kind lady at a rescue pulled me out of county with 45 MINUTES left until I was to be killed.

I went to a foster home and the wonderful lady there, Karen found out I had a torn knee joint.  The surgery was very expensive but she raised the money and my knee has been fixed.  I am still a slow mover – but hey I am around 5 years old – we all start moving a little slower at that age.

Karen took me to Pets Return Home becasue I tended to be greedy and protective of my food around other dogs. When I first arrived at Pets Return Home I would growl at every dog when they went near any of the 10 or so food bowls lined up.  It was very overwhelming for me – all that food!  For me!  Fortunately the dogs at Pets Return Home know their manners and would walk off when I growled.  The behavior coach taught me that I did not need to be fearful and possessive of food anymore.  I had a home, human and doggie friends and all the food I wanted.  Heck sometimes I eat out of the same bowl with another dog now.  New dogs that come to the ranch I still growl at but I do it to let them know they are not following the proper canine manners.  After all that is why we all come here – to learn how to be a dog and a loving companion.

I am ready to be adopted – ready to bring love to a special family.  I am a full figured gal who likes to lay around as well as walk around the yard and hang with my family.  I would love for someone to love me – Will you? DO you know someone? DO you want to foster me.  My name is Ganja and I am crate trained, house trained and listen very well. Take me home or tell your friends about me.
