My name is Honey. I am a pocket pit bull about 12 months old. I am a pretty girl. I enjoy running and being with a human. I get along with other dogs and kids too. I really want to find a forever home. I ran away from my previous home with my friend Prince and was on the ‘lamb’ for a couple of months. When a nice lady found me, she called my previous family and they said they did not want me back because they had a new dog already. Very sad, I loved them a lot and thought they loved me too.

I am ready to begin trusting another family who will love me forever. I need a backyard and some leash training. I am crate trained and potty trained. I do not like when other dogs get near my food. So please, just feed me separately. While living on the streets I learned to gobble up and protect any food we could find. I am afraid I will not have enough or some other dog is going to steal it so I eat it very fast. I like to hike and swim. I love the attention from my family and being with them. I hope I find a new family soon.

Would you like to help me find a new family? Could you be them? You or someone you know could foster me for a while and see if I am a good enough gal for you. In the least, I will get out of the kennels here for a while and share my love with other humans.

Behavior Coach Notes:

Honey is a beautiful little blue nose pit bull rescued and being sponsored by E-list Angels. She is currently in training at the ranch. She has a ton of energy and is full of love. She spent her first year of life with another, older dog and was uncomfortable around other dogs when alone. Since coming to the ranch, she has become more confident and gets along with everyone! Her insecurities are ignited only when she senses extreme fear in another dog, usually a small one. She also needs to be fed away form other dogs.  Her 'street time' entrenched food guarding in her.  It may subside with further training and time. Otherwis e, little or big, Honey is a good friend to all. Humans are her favorite, including children, but she is working on controlling her impulse to jump up. She is sweet, adorable, healthy and young - a perfect addition to any family, preferably with kids over the age of 8. She will benefit from more training, but it is also expected she will mellow out with age.
